Spring chamber music concert series

The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra will present a series of chamber music concerts this spring at Stoa, Kanneltalo, Vuotalo and the University of Helsinki.

This spring’s chamber music series looks to Paris and St. Petersburg. The cross-border friendships, collaboration, influences and mutual critiquing of Stravinsky, Debussy, Tchaikovsky and Saint-Saëns provide the framework for the programme, which has been put together by Erkki Suomalainen.
The series culminates with two concerts at the Great Hall of the University of Helsinki. Designed by Carl Ludvig Engel in the Empire-style, the same building served as the original home of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra from 1882 to 1970.
Our hometown chamber music tour will also take in other districts with free-of-charge concerts at the Stoa, Kanneltalo and Vuotalo cultural centres in February and March.
