George Gershwin: Piano Concerto
Dmitri Šostakovitš: Symphony No. 4

Jukka-Pekka Saraste brings together two complete opposites from the classical music scene of the early 20th century under the same roof. Whereas Shostakovich’s dark symphony was rejected by censors, Gershwin’s piano concerto is sizzling with the excitement of Broadway stages. The virtuosic skills of Joonas Ahonen have won praise in Finland and around the world.
