Joe Hisaishi to conduct Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra also on Saturday 8 January 2022

Due to high demand, composer-conductor Joe Hisaishi will conduct the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra for a second concert at the beginning of January. The extra concert will take place at the Helsinki Music Centre on Saturday 8 January at 1pm.

Joe Hisaishi, the trusted composer of Japanese animation director Hayao Miyazaki, is bringing to Helsinki a suite from the film Spirited Away along with two of his pieces composed for the concert hall: the minimalistic DA. MA. SHI. E and The East Land Symphony, the solo parts of which will be interpreted by soprano Olga Heikkilä.

Tickets for the extra concert will go on sale through Ticketmaster on Wednesday 15 December at 9am.
