At the Cosmic Tango Club, you’ll hear Finnish and Argentine tangos by composers such as Astor Piazzolla, Unto Mononen, and Toivo Kärki. The tangos have been arranged by Tuomas Turriago, who will also serve as the evening’s pianist and host. The tango orchestra will be joined by the evening’s conductor from the concert by Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, violinist Pekka Kuusisto, and soprano soloist Aphrodite Patoulidou.
The popular Encounters Club is an arena for creative ideas and surprising encounters with performances by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra’s musicians and friends.
Free admission – welcome! The programme begins at 9pm after the evening’s concert, and the café is open until 9:45pm.
Yes, but only before or after the concert. During the concert we just want you to enjoy the music. This way you won’t disturb the musicians or other audience members.
Only the orchestra has a dress code. You can dress as you like.
