The collaboration between Meta4 and Kaija Saariaho stretches back years, and Saariaho’s music is said to be part of Meta4’s native language already. One of Finland’s most successful string quartets, Meta4 has not only recorded Saariaho’s music but also toured the world as part of the ensemble for her opera “Only the Sound Remains”.
The Encounters Club celebrates the 70th birthday of composer Kaija Saariaho in the Main Foyer of Helsinki Music Centre on Friday 14 October at 9pm. Free admission.
Meta4 will also lead the HPO’s Wiima concert on Friday 14 April 2023
