The popular Encounters Club is an arena for creative ideas and surprising encounters with performances by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra’s musicians and friends.
At the first Encounters Club of the season, soprano Aphrodite Patoulidou and violinist Pekka Kuusisto interpret Rebecca Clarke’s three Irish folk songs that are full of love. The evening culminates with an arrangement of Gustav Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder for String Quartet and Soprano. The piece has been arranged especially for this evening by Zakarias Grafilo together with the principals of the strings section of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra who will perform in the string quartet.
The Encounters Club is open to all and free of charge, and it takes place on Fridays around once a month in the main foyer of the Helsinki Music Centre.
Free admission – welcome! The programme begins at 9 p.m. after the evening’s concert, and the café is open until 10:30 p.m.
