The Mahler Chamber Orchestra brings with it a repertoire of lovingly arranged folk songs, a musical wedding anniversary gift, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s cheerful youth symphony.
“When I work with folk music, I am always caught by the thrill of discovery.” Modernist composer Luciano Berio collected folk songs from old records, sheet music collections, and folk musicians and incorporated them into gentle accompaniments for the instrumental ensemble. Dumbarton Oaks is Igor Stravinsky’s wedding anniversary gift to the owner and hostess of the house of the same name, American patrons of the arts Robert and Mildred Bliss.
Season tickets are on sale from 6 May to 3 August 2026.
Single tickets for concerts go on sale on 11 August 2026.
Yes, but only before or after the concert. During the concert we just want you to enjoy the music. This way you won’t disturb the musicians or other audience members.
Only the orchestra has a dress code. You can dress as you like.
