Jenny Villanen

I am from Rauma. As a town, Rauma provided great opportunities for practicing music. I still have a lot of friends from those times with whom I still get to play music.

I joined the orchestra in August 2007.

I like to play a wide range of music. At home I play a lot of Bach, for example, while at work I like to play Shostakovich, Brahms and Sibelius. I also like playing modern music, the way it’s challenging, sometimes mathematical, sometimes finding new tones.

There are lots of wonderful places in Helsinki, and I like the beautiful buildings and parks. One of my favourite places is Töölönlahti. It’s beautiful all year round, and I never get tired of walking around it.
