Kristiina Vuorela appointed II Intendant of the HPO

Kristiina Vuorela (M.A.) has been appointed II Intendant of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. Vuorela has built a long career in the Finnish and international classical music industry and joins the orchestra from her current position as Executive Director of the Musiikkitalo Organ Association. 

Previously, Vuorela has worked, among other roles, as Promotion and Project Manager at the music export organization Music Finland and as Senior Producer for Classical Music at the Helsinki Festival. She is also a familiar face at the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, having served as Programme Coordinator and Project Producer from 2022 to 2024. She will begin her new position as II Intendant on 1 October 2026. 

The II Intendant is responsible for the planning, monitoring and development of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra’s finances and administration and participates in the organization’s strategic management. As a member of the orchestra’s Management Group, the II Intendant is broadly responsible for developing the orchestra’s financial management, administration, risk management and human resources functions in cooperation with the orchestra office, the City of Helsinki’s central administration and key stakeholders.
