Heitor Villa-Lobos as guest conductor

Brazilian Villa-Lobos mainly conducted works of his own at a concert in spring 1951. On the programme were Choros No. 6 and the Bachianas Brasileiras suites 5 & 8. He also conducted the second symphony by Lorenzo Fernandez. It was a notable occasion, and even the Finnish President honoured it with his presence.
