Encounters Club - Breath, motion, sound

Fri 07/02/2020 21:00 - 22:30
free entry

The Encounters Club is open to all and free of charge.

The evening programme explores the synergy between breath, motion and sound. We need breath in order to achieve motion and sound, whether in dance, music or life in general. In this performance, a dancer and a string quartet express this synergy in different ways.

Alessandro Scarlatti: Sonata à quattro No. 4 in D minor
Paola Livorsi: Suonno for string quartet
Clara Iannotta: Limun for violin, viola and two page-turners
Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina: Sicut Cervus

Katriina Kantola, dance
Teija Kivinen, violin
Kari Olamaa, violin
Tiila Kangas, viola
Päivi Ahonen, cello

The club is an arena for creative ideas and surprising encounters with performances by the orchestra’s musicians and friends. The club will take place in the main foyer of the Helsinki Music Centre.

Free admission – welcome! The programme begins at 9pm, and the café is open until 10:30pm.
