The programme for this December’s Encounters Club is built around György Ligeti’s 6 Bagatelles for wind quintet. The programme also features Diptych by Ligeti’s teacher Sàndor Veress and Lauri Porra’s Adventurer, which was inspired by Ligeti’s Bagatelles.
Ligeti’s Bagatelles have been strongly present throughout the existence of the Fantasia Quintet. The Fantasia Quintet is a chamber music group of five Finnish professional musicians who began playing together in 2003 and perform regularly both in Finland and abroad. The group formed during their studies and has remained together for almost two decades. In addition to the traditional wind quintet pieces, the Fantasia Quintet also likes to perform new music and welcomes every fresh opportunity to present the full scale of wind instruments.

Yes, but only before or after the concert. During the concert we just want you to enjoy the music. This way you won’t disturb the musicians or other audience members.
Only the orchestra has a dress code. You can dress as you like.
