George Gershwin did not abandon his musical mother tongue when he composed his Piano Concerto – it is jazz from start to finish.

Sergei Prokofiev’s Fifth Symphony was premiered in Moscow in January 1945. During the performance, artillery salutes were heard celebrating the Red Army’s military success.
