Luonnotar is recorded with Soile Isokoski as the soloist
Historia
In 2006, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and Leif Segerstam recorded Luonnotar and songs with orchestral accompaniment. The soloist was Soile Isokoski (soprano). The songs with orchestral accompaniment were, with one exception, orchestrated by Sibelius himself, the one exception being by Sibelius’s son-in-law Jussi Jalas.
The disc won the 2007 MIDEM Classical Award in the “Vocal Recitals” category and got glowing reviews in, among others, The Independent and The Daily Telegraph.
